A quick update as May approaches fast! The DIPC today announces the updated list of quarter-finalists who will travel to Dublin in May.
As is inevitable in the modern world of piano competitions, there has been a handful of withdrawals since the results were announced in early March and four candidates from the reserves have been added to the list, bringing the updated total to 26 pianists. The administration team has been busy allocating competitors to host families and practise pianos and preparations are in full swing. The DIPC is so grateful to all who offer accommodation and practice facilities to the young pianists, many of whom are visiting Ireland for the first time. Volunteers have also been offering their time and help in a variety of ways to the Competition as it gears up for a hectic week in May.
Tickets are booking quickly for the Competition Final on May 16th at the National Concert Hall. If you haven’t already purchased, you can do so here. On night we will hear performances of piano concertos by three finalists with the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jonas Ålber.
