Host Families

Courtesy of Bernadette Madden.

Competitors who come to Dublin to compete are offered ‘Host Family’ accommodation by the DIPC. This tradition of offering Host Family accommodation has been a hallmark of the DIPC since the first Competition in 1988. At the DIPC we are always striving to bring the DIPC Community together and an important part of being together is sourcing new Host Families and, of course, accepting the hospitality of Host Families who have been with the DIPC for over three decades.

In the heart of the DIPC we rediscover music, embrace the ambition of the Competitors and their journey with its rewarding result.

By living with a host family for the duration of the Competition, the young pianists go through the gruelling qualifying rounds with their own support group family’ and get an insight into Irish life as an added cultural bonus. Many remain friends for years afterwards and return to their host families for weddings, christenings and other family celebrations.

If you would like to host a competitor during the competition, we would be delighted to hear from you at: info@dipc.ie
