Dublin International Piano Competition Rescheduled to 2022

The Dublin International Piano Competition, which was due to be held in May of 2021, will now take place in May 2022, the Board of the triennial competition announce today.

After careful consideration, the difficult decision was taken, due to ongoing uncertainty about travel and performance restrictions and their likely extension into 2021.

A critical element of the globally renowned competition is the opportunity for competitors –  rising young pianists who come to Ireland from across the world – to perform live during the Competition and after.   A much-valued centrepiece of the Competition are orchestral performances and recitals in Ireland, and, for the overall winner, at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and London’s Wigmore Hall.

“This has been an important part of the vision of the DIPC since it was founded over 30 years ago.  Every young pianist craves opportunities to perform in public and we in the DIPC want to give as many concerts as we can to our winner to help them build a significant career internationally”
John O’Conor, Artistic Director

The Dublin International Piano Competition looks forward to warmly welcoming competitors to Ireland once again in 2022.

Details about the Dublin International Piano Competition, including background on its 30 year history, information on past winners, video and other resources, are available on DIPC’s newly redesigned website at www.dipc.ie.
