Dublin City Council ‘Opera in the Open’

Amphitheatre, Wood Quay, Thursday, August 27th at 13:00.

We are delighted to share with you that the DIPC will present Defne Gultoprak in recital as part of a new collaboration between Dublin City Council and the DIPC:  Dublin City Council and Dublin International Piano Competition Street Piano Series.
The recital takes place following ‘Opera in the Open’ in the Amphitheatre of Dublin City Council, Woodquay, Dublin 2, on Thursday August 27th. The opera celebrates the work of Giuseppe Verdi and commences at 13.00, lasting approximately one hour.
After the opera performance,  Defne Gultoprak, who was in the first cohort of the DIPC Young Pianists Programme, will perform for half an hour.
The programme will include works by Mozart, Brahms and Chopin. Defne will be introduced by our Artistic Director Finghin Collins.
This is a wonderful and valuable opportunity for the DIPC, offering additional exposure to our performers and to the wider work of the Competition.  We are very pleased to be part of such a vibrant public event in the heart of Dublin City and to co-promote this community event in partnership with our main sponsors, Dublin City Council.

Admission is free.  We warmly encourage all patrons, friends, and supporters of the Competition to attend, bring their friends, enjoy the music, and support our performer on the day.

We hope to see many of you there. Booking is not required – just show up on the day.

Further piano events in Dublin City Centre are being planned in collaboration with Dublin City Council and details will be announced as they are confirmed.
