The Jury was chaired by Orla McDonagh, Dean, Faculty of Arts &  Humanities, TU Dublin.

Jury Chairperson, Orla McDonagh said, The Irish Preliminary Competition of the Dublin International Piano Competition was a wonderful day of performance by 17 young Irish pianists. The extraordinary level of pianism heard by the jury is a clear sign of the growth within the Irish classical piano sector over the last number of decades.  Ireland can be very proud of the level of artistry emerging in this generation, which is a testament not only to the dedication and talent of all of the young pianists themselves, but also to the commitment and expertise of their teachers and the opportunity for aspiring Irish classical pianists to prepare for and participate in competitions on this level.  Seven Irish pianists will now move forward to the International Competition in May 2022 and we wish them every success.’
